Protect the Bees!

As a result of agricultural production intensified under the pretext of meeting the food needs of the increasing population, resistance to diseases has decreased in plant and animal production. Farmers engaged in production hoping to receive high yields with materials that are not resistant to diseases have faced many new diseases and have been in need of drugs. Drugs used to combat diseases disrupt natural balance . Honey bees, which are part of the natural balance, are also affected by medicines. Bees coming to the flower to realize pollination, which is the starting point of plant production, are exposed to heavy chemicals. Some of these chemicals cause sudden deaths of bees and others cause them to die slowly. The importance of honey bees in the ecosystem can be understood by considering the products produced by bees and their active roles in pollination. Increased bee deaths in recent years have shown that bees should be protected.

Why Protect Bees?

We must protect bees in order to obtain more and more quality products in fruit and vegetable production . Honey bees need to be pollinated in 1/3 of the food consumed by human beings , and all bees including honey bees in 70 of 100 products which correspond to 90% of the world food need. In the US , the economic income from plant products pollinated by honey bees is more than $ 20 billion . The same applies to other countries. But, apart from all these, there is no material equivalent to the necessity of bees for the continuity of the ecosystem .

In short, no bees, no life!
